This worked MUCH better. ➔ STUDY : (note materials and method): Brainstorming our next study ideas: From Fr. Patrick - 10 Commandments; Our Father; Beatitudes... From Anna-Marie - Women in the Church - Br. Raymond wrote an "encyclical" on this... From David - Yves Congar We will be reading the Women's Encyclical from the Student Brothers, including Br. Raymond. ➔ BUSINESS/MISSION: Bob updated us on the provincial meeting he attended last month. Bob brought a lot of historical context. Holy Rosary Lay Dominicans really struggled through the late sixties and seventies, because of misunderstanding the decrees of the Second Vatican Council. We will be starting a "spotlight" where people talk about their vocation. When speaking with people about Lay Dominicans, we can emphasize the fact that the Parish is the source of your Sacramental needs. However, it cannot meet all of your needs. Some parishes are great at Social Justice ministries. Some have great schools. Some provide excellent confirmation. None can provide everything. Historically, the 3rd orders have been the manner in which people supplement their Spiritual formation. We will need to get hard commitments from the other 3rd orders in our area to agree to participate in this program. We will go around and perform missions at parishes with priests from the orders and give daily talks that week about the 3rd orders represented in our group. We will need a website with an interactive calendar that parishes can sign up for. Potential Title: "The Languages of God" or "The Languages of Prayer". ➔ NEXT MEETING: November 24th - Our next meeting. ➔ STUDY FOR NEXT MEETING Main Group: ???
